I've had the SDFB for about 3 weeks now. My system is sounding great.
It's hard to define exactly what Im hearing but music seems smoother, more natural and easier to listen to. I have two, one for each of my AGD Audion Mono Block Amps using the graphene sluggo. Things are still improving.. I have many Vera FI Products - Snub Station,, SnubWay and MainStrean. All have contributed to better sound. These products are all fairly priced and Mark is a great business owner and wonderful person to deal with. I totally trust him and his products.
I want to start this my stating I am no audiophile, but I've listened to a lot of speakers over the years and these have to be the smoothest speakers I've ever listened to.
For power , I've connected to a 70's vintage Kenwood amp, a 90's vintage Kenwood amp, a Yamaha RS 202, an Aiyima A07 Max and an Aiyima T9 Pro. For sources I've used a Fluance RT85, Bluetooth, and a Wiim ultra. The speakers they were compared to were the Klipsch r50M, Dayton B65, Polk t15, Sony SCCS5, and Jamo s803.
The Klipsch sound harsh and distorted in comparison, especially in the treble. The Jamo sounds boosted in the lower end in comparison but definitely no where near as smooth. the other 3 aren't even worth mentioning in the same breath. I use the Sony speakers for home theatre, but when listening to music they sound harsh. the Dayton and Polk are just cheap speakers for the garage.
The Scouts really sound great with the A07 max and the vintage amps. For a system on a budget get an Aiyima A07, a Wiim Ultra and the Scouts. Sounds Amazing!
These are very impressive, especially for their price point! Best value for the money. They are very musical, smooth, easy to listen to without fatigue. The build quality is great. Highly recommended!
Im loving the sound and overall quality of the speakers. I’m probably going to order another pair.
I really can't give a comparison review, but my ears hear dynamics very well. These speakers sound fantastic and I'm still breaking them in. I was blown away by the amount of bass these produce. Although I do have them about 6" from my corner walls. Mids sound very natural and the highs are not harsh at all. Very warm to my ears. I ran these on a Yamaha class AB amp and very well designed class D amp.
For the price and craftsmanship you will not be disappointed.
I waited for 3 months for this guy to arrive. And it was so worth it ! A truly amazing speaker that continues to impress after 2 plus months of use. I am a retired musician and bass player and can attest to this sub's excellent performance. Starting with the construction and parts quality, it is very good and truly remarkable at this price point. The quality of the driver and the internal amp stands up to units twice its price. What an engineering marvel !
The sound? Clean, musical, fast, and deep where it should be. No "boom box" here. Having played bass in many bands and in the recordings studio, I'm fussy about what I hear and what I hear is the kind of bass accuracy I often dont find in subs costing in the $1000 range, let alone at this bargain basement level. Kudo's to Mark and his development team. Remarkable indeed!
The Caldera 10 also blended into my two systems - one with vintage ADS L300's also an engineering marvel, and with my Polk LSi9's - a speaker that flew under many's radar but with an amazing midrange. Add in the Caldera 10's superbly accurate lower register and it makes me want to listen for many hours, And that friends is what it's all about. Thank you Vera-Fi Audio - I'll be back !
Exceptional compact speakers. I have listened to a lot of compact minis over the years having coming in to the high end audio world listening to the iconic LS3/5a speakers. These hold their own with some of the reference standards. Beautiful fit and finish. Just a pleasure to look at and listen to. Over the top value. Everyone can afford high fidelity with gear like this. Thank you !
These speakers are wonderful. I have been using a classic pair of speakers that I moved to alarg room in the basement. In our main room the Scouts have just opened everything up. Their sound is so open and airy. I hear highs I never heard before. I love the vocals on these speakers and the soundstage is wide and deep. In short these are great speakers that are worth twice the price.
It took a couple of months to fulfill my order, but there is only so much the team at VeraFi can do with all of these tariffs. I received the Scouts and the build quality is as good as Sonus Faber and others for a great price! It takes 40 to 50 hours to burn these in, per Mark, but at currently 17 hours of use for me, these sound great. I was hesitant to not get the sub woofer, but for my use case which is mostly jazz, these have delivered a crisp but not so harsh highs and great bass. I took a chance on these, over my older ELACs in my office. For those that listen to jazz and classical as I do, these speakers are ideal. These beat my ELAC Debuts that I have had for years. Andrew Jones, there's a new cross over design giant in town, and luckily VeraFi works with them. Try these, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Solid and beautifully built speakers! Amazing sound from these small bookshelf speakers. Warm sounding but very articulate when using as 2.0 home theater in my 14x16’ bedroom. Waiting on my order for 12” caldera subwoofer which will extend the lower end. Hope it comes soon!
Brilliant little powerhouse speaker. Warm sound with great space and detail. They were worth the wait!
I paid quite a lot extra to have them shipped to Australia because of the weight, which made me question the purchase at the time but it was definitely worth it! They sound terrific. Awesome speakers.
Vera Fi adapter “AC Tuning X”.
When I received the (SDFB) Swiss Digital Fuse Box (s) with the graphene slugs for my Mono amps I tried it with the piggy tails that Vera-Fi also offered. Honestly, the sound took a back seat, anemic best described it. I believe the wiring in the piggy tails was just not beefy enough for my Hi-Powered amps. I tried other short AC cables from the likes of Snake River Takshaka and others, but they just didn’t impress.
So, since I am using AudioQuest Dragon power cords I put the SDFB away for a while, but I continued to use the graphene slugs in the amps. I really liked the sound with the graphene slug instead of the Synergistic Fuses, so I went without any fuse protection.
Mark eventually released a new item calling it the AC Tuning X. It connects up to the SDFB. This item takes the place of another power cord (i.e. Piggy tails). It has a female IEC on one end and a male IEC on the other. Internally the unit contains another graphene fuse. Seemed kind of redundant but Mark offers other types of slugs that can be used for fine tuning the sound.
When I first hooked everything back up, I was expecting more of the same from my first experience. But wait, it didn’t sound too terrible. I am enough of a cable proponent that I believe things have to break in for a while before passing judgment.
So, I gave it all a week of continuous voltage and music playing. At the end of this time, I can honestly say I am very pleased. The sound is strong, defined, with bass to love and the overall sound quality is improved.
My $$$ AudioQuest Dragon power cords are not short changed.
Highly recommended.

I replaced a dead Polk psw110 and am very pleased with the results!
Amazingly open and smooth mids to upper-base range with a sweet but not peaky highs. Very easy to listen to. For $299? Crazy good. And the sales and service are top notch. Highly recommend.
Using this in my TV room with a LG C5 and a Sennheiser Ambeo sound bar and I have seen and heard an improvement. Well done, gentlemen!
I have 2 of the pigtails. Both of them have female ends that are not usable with any of the standard plug setups here in the USA. I have spoken to Mark about this and am still waiting for a solution
It's 8:15 a.m., do you know where your Swiss Digital Fuse Box is, I ask myself. It's then my unrealistic mind realizes that the only thing missing from a Swiss Digital Fuse Box is a dog or cat whistle sensor so that it will be present when I whistle.
In half-seriousness, I have in my permanent collection 3 SDFB (6.3 amp x 2 + 2.5 amp x 1) and I have 2 Infinity Fuses---right now. Sure I could use 1 Infinity Fuse in place of 1 6.3 rated SDFB, but garr, I'm feeling like a parent in a supermarket when a beloved family member is... sorta missing. A sorta missing SDFB is unacceptable. So, with an array of Sluggos in my bathrobe pocket, my search continues. I'm about to post pictures and a reward amount on a telephone pole over this.
But first, I'll assign 1 Infinity Fuse to 6.3 amp slo blo mode duty and listen to audio as my search continues. If this is the worst of my problems, I'm having a grossly fine experience with SDFB and Infinity Fuse---and other excellent Vera Fi Products as well.
When the MainStream and SnubWay are connected to my audio system, the drumbeats have become tight and powerful. I love the feeling of being enveloped by the music.
I am very happy with the sound and performance of this attractively priced subwoofer. It is better than I expected. Vera-Fi kept in touch with shipping updates and I was satisfied with the service. This subwoofer was not in stock when I ordered it. That can happen. Five Stars for service and product.
